A Magical Summer with Criss Angel...and Cameron Diaz?

Criss Angel has been dubbed the postmodern Houdini by MTV, and his television series Criss Angel MindFreak will premiere Tuesday, June 5^th on A&E at 10 PM/9C. The season premiere promises to be a heart stopper as Criss Angel attempts a live, death-defying cement block demonstration from Times Square. The demonstration will begin Monday morning as Criss is placed in a glass box with steel bars.

The box will then be hoisted 40 feet above the ground and will slowly fill with cement as spectators view and interact with Criss. Criss will have 24 hours to escape from the cement block before it crashes to the ground. The magic demonstration will be taped for a future episode of Criss Angel MindFreak, but can be viewed via live streaming during the 24-hour web cast at A&E's website.

What also promises to be a magical summer for Cameron Diaz is her rumored romance developing with Criss Angel. The two have been spotted spending some cozy time together and have been seen arm-in-arm in several public places. However, in a report by Ireland On Line, Criss Angel denies that he and Cameron Diaz are romantically involved. Angel claims they are just friends and neither are looking for anything from the other. He tries to prove his point by asking, "Do you think that Cameron Diaz, the most beautiful women in the world, would have any interest in me?"

A recent article on Associated Content titled, Houdini Round-Up: Magicians Who Duplicate Their Icon, shows how Criss Angel and other magicians match the skills of the great Houdini. In Criss Angel's August 2002 television special, he stunned the country by chaining and shackling himself, submerging himself into a 220-gallon water torture cell for 24 hours, and then escaping. In 1998, Criss Angel headlined the Madison Square Garden annual Halloween party.
