Sheraton South Padre: The Best Hotel on the Island
If you are going to South Padre Island, Texas, you need to be staying at the Sheraton. Located right across the bridge from Port Isabelle, the Sherton South Padre offers the best stay on the island. With it's spacious rooms, amazing pool, great pool cafe and bar, and a great stretch of
beach, the Sherton is THE place to stay.
Rooms at the Sheraton South Padre range from about $250 (for a regular room) to about $450(for a condo). The Condos here are an amazing deal. They can sleep up to 8 people and nearly all have a great ocean view(a few have a half ocean/half pool view). The Condo comes complete with full kitchen and 2 bedrooms, plus a sleeper sofa. One bedroom house a queen bed and it's own bathroom and the second bedroom has it's own bathroom and 2 double beds. The full kitchen is great so that you can stop at the walmart in Port Isabelle and stock up on breakfast and possibly lunch groceries and only have to eat out maybe one meal a day. Though with a fantastic restaurant and great poolside grill, you may want to eat lunch at the hotel as well.
The rooms are filled with bright colors and has a very tropical feel, reflecting that seen in the hotel lobby.
The Pool is definitely the best on South Padre Island. It is huge and has water volleyball and a shallow end with a waterfall. You will never feel crowded in this pool as there is room for many many people. There is also a large selection of lounge chairs, so you will always have somewhere to keep your stuff or to lay out in the sun, when not on the beach. The pool bar is great, friendly bartenders, quick service and great drinks. YOu won't be disappointed. The pool area also boasts a decent sized hot tub as well where you can look out onto the Gulf of Mexico.
The Beach is next. It has a great stretch of sandy beach. Closer to the hotel you have beach volleyball but there is plenty of space for beach chairs and umbrellas and towels. The water is great and the beach near the Sheraton is always clean. What better way to spend your night, than to watch the sunset from the beach with a tropical drink in your hand.
