Summer is finally back, and unavoidably with summer comes bugs - lots of them. There are several options out there to deal with them. You can purchase candles, sprays, electric devices, and several other items. Finding a product that is effective is important because not only are insects annoying, but many also carry various diseases such as malaria. I spend a lot of time outside away from home, so I prefer spray on protection. It is portable, and as long as I'm using a quality product, it will stay on my skin and protect me wherever I go that day. Most recently, I have purchased Off! Familycare Smooth and Dry Insect Repellent from S.C. Johnson. Like most brands of insect repellent currently on the market, Off! Familycare Smooth and Dry's active ingredient is DEET. For this product, it makes up fifteen percent of the composition of the solution. Fifteen perfect is considered to be a low concentration that will only last during relatively brief insect exposure. It should only last a couple hours. Recently there has been much debate regarding the safety of DEET exposure, especially after prolonged usage.
Off! Familycare Smooth and Dry insect repellent is different from many other brands and formulas of insect repellent because it is made with corn starch to give it an instantly dry feeling. Many brands leave an uncomfortable greasy or oily feeling. The Off! Smooth and Dry does live up to its claims of being dry once it comes into contact with skin. I decided to try this formula because I have acne-prone skin and often many of the greasy formulas cause break outs for me. The Off! Soft and Dry did not cause any problems for me in that area.
