I got hooked on this show since I became pregnant last August as a means to nform myself of the things children and women should be aware of in the sexual crime realm. After watching this season's finale, I must say Dick Wolf must be agoraphobic from the stories he portrays and his circle of friends must be depressed as a result of the stress on their psyches for constantly thinking up the twisted and obscene crimes in these story lines.
The title for the last show this season was "Screwed." Honestly, you can sum up that entire episode in this one word but I must say I am a bit rattled because the ending of this episode leaves its fans wondering if this show may be cancelled or completely recast. Just in case Dick Wolf comes across this review, SVU is NOTHING without Olivia Benson (Mariska Hargitay) and Elliot Stabler (Christopher Meloni). A comparison of the ratings when Mariska was on maternity leave and temporarily replaced by Dani Beck (Connie Nielsen) clearly illustrates Mariska's star power and loyal fan base. Even America's dairy farmers figured this out and showcased her in recent, Got Milk? ads.
The episode is about a trial for the murder of a woman and her infant son at the hands of Darius Parker (Ludacris), Fin's (Ice-T) ex-wife's son. Darius's trial produced massive negative media attention because Fin's relation to Darius was an irresistible hook to the local media as de facto evidence of apparent police corruption and cronyism.
