For avid boxing fans across the world, no game is more entertaining than Fight Night Round 3. Finally EA sports got it right when they created this game; making it more realistic than the 2 previous Fight Night games (Fight Night - 2004, and Fight Night Round 2 - 2005). Whether you play the game to simulate what real boxing should be like or just easing tension and using your bottled up aggression on a simulated boxer after a hard day, you will definitely find what you are looking for in Fight Night Round 3.

This year, EA sports added some key components to the game that makes it a step above the past two versions. In last year’s version (Fight Night Round 2), the haymaker punch was created to give gamers an advantage over their opponent with one deadly punch. However, the haymaker punch became an exaggeration of what fighting is and was often abused by gamers too anxious for a quick knockout. In Round 3, EA Sports maintained the haymaker punch, but slowed it down a bit so that it would take perfect timing and concentration to deliver the lethal blow. If you happen to miss, the consequences are deadly and can cause major damage to your fighter. I was so happy to see the improvements on haymaker control, because I was getting awful tired of fighting armatures online that abused the punch. In addition to the haymaker, Fight Night now has a flash KO punch that is even more devastating if landed. Land one of these punches, and you are immediately switched to first person view where the advantage is in your corner for a knockout.

One feature that I love about this game is that each boxer has there own style fighting. When using Muhammad Ali, you are able to dance around the ring stinging your opponent with jabs as he once did long ago. Maybe you are into bullying your opponent around the ring landing big shots. If so Joe Frazier’s technique may be for you. You can even create your own fighter and add various punching and blocking styles to unique and above all the rest.
