This is a restaurant review of Pizza Palace Restaurant. It is a local restaurant in Columbia, South Carolina. It is a little whole in the wall Italian restaurant in southeastern part of the city. Pizza Palace is not a restaurant that has been around for a long time. It has only been around for about 8 years. The menu has a wide variety but everything on it is great. It has traditional Italian dishes like lasagna, manicotti, and pizza; but also has American favorites such as a hamburger or steak and cheese. My family regularly visits Pizza Palace, and each one of us has our separate favorites.
My personal favorite is the pizza. The toppings are delicious, the cheese always seems to be melted perfectly, and the crust is crispy. The cost of the pizza is about the same as it is at a carry-out place such as Dominoes or Pizza Hut. The other Italian dishes are equally as good as fancy places such as The Olive Garden, but much cheaper. Most of the entrées are priced around eight dollars. Their hamburgers and other sandwiches are also very tasty. They have an assortment of pies and cakes that are served for dessert.
The atmosphere at Pizza Palace is not like your typical Italian restaurant. It is a hole in the wall restaurant, with a dark setting. The air is a little smoky and the lighting a little dim, but it is not a scary place. They have televisions located in each corner for the viewing pleasures of the customers. There is a bar, but it is mostly used for people who are picking up to-go orders.
The workers at Pizza Palace are very personable. It is a family owned restaurant and is run by people that care. Most of the workers have been there for as long as I can remember. They recognize and remember people and are very friendly and seem to enjoy their job. My parents go there regularly and they always get the same thing and the waitress knows what it is without asking. When my parents walk in, she is headed their way with a glass of tea and has already put in the order for their usual food.
