Only 11 starters return for Mark Richt and the Bulldogs, yet, Georgia is coming of an impressive Peach Bowl victory over Virginia Tech and hopes to use that as a springboard for '07.

Matthew Stafford returns at QB for the Bulldogs, and he should be able to build on the experience he gained last season in his first season at the helm for UGA. When Stafford turns and hands the football off it will likely be too Kregg Lumpkin and Thomas Brown, a pair of dynamic running backs for the Georgia attack. Keep a close eye on newcomer, Knowshon Moreno who could challenge for starting duties by midseason.

Stafford will have nice some targets to throw the football to in Mohamed Massaquoi and A.J. Bryant, as well as Sean Bailey and Kenneth Harris. Up front ,attack will rest heavily on the effectiveness of a UGA line returning only two starters, Fernando Velasco at center and Chester Adams at right tackle. Scott Havercamp, Chris Davis, and Trinton Sturdivant will likely round out the line.

The primary concern for Georgia football in '07 will be their defense, which is essentially being rebuilt from the ground up. Only Jeff Owens returns along the front four. Manning the NT spot for UGA will be touted, Kade Weston, with Roderick battle and Marcus Howard at the bookend positions for the Bulldogs.

Georgia has a tradition of fine linebackers and Brandon Miller, Dannell Ellerbe, and Darius Dewberry are the likely trio expected to mature quickly and develop into the next great set for UGA. The secondary possesses more experience than any component of the Georgia defense as Paul Oliver and Kelin Johnson give the Bulldogs a fine pair of football players in the back line. CJ Byrd, Bryan Evans, and Ramarcus Brown will be expected to provide a lot of quality minutes for UGA as well.

The Bulldogs have the luxury of a solid placekicker in Brandon Cotu, back to handle those duties for the Bulldogs after an injury-plagued 2006 that hampered his effectiveness. Brian Mimbs appears to be the new UGA punter.
