When I was growing up,

A little girl in a small town,

Dreaming up so many dreams,

One day I would meet him,

The man of my dreams,

Twenty years later,

Now it's all said and done,

I sit here on my porch,

Starring at the sun,

Shining down on me,

Watching my kids run around,

Having so much fun,

It's a beautiful sound,

How silly it all seems,

All my life long dreams,

About the man who would lift me up,

He would think I hung the moon,

I am sure he will be home soon,

It's just can't keep living a lie,

Once in awhile he "drops by,"

My dreams I still hold close to my heart,

But I fear that soon we will part.
