Whether it's just because its summer and you don't want to have to deal with the harmful rays of the powerful sun or you're just doing it out of convenience, alternatives to sun tanning can have advers
e effects on your body. Here's a list of many popular alternatives that are available, how they work and how they can eventually harm your body in the short or long-term.

Tanning Beds Regardless of the assumption that people are basically putting themselves in an oven, tanning beds remain a popular way of achieving a tan without worrying about being burnt by the rays of the sun on a beach or out in the open somewhere else. Tanning beds work by generating UVA and UVB radiation in order to stimulate the body to release more melanin into the skin. Due to the fact that tanning beds cannot be used as long as someone can lie out in the sun, the tan is generally not as deep as one that is attained by way of the sun. The World Health Organization warns of the UV radiation which has intensified in recent tanning beds due to the fact that it can potentially cause cancer as UV radiation is known to do. Other risk factors include premature aging, numerous eye problems and even the diminish the immune system. Using a tanning bed should be eased into, starting with short sessions so that the customer can potentially gain the ability to utilize the complete twenty minute sessions.

Tanning Booth The problems with tanning booths are essentially the same as with tanning beds. The major difference between a tanning booth and bed is the fact that a booth is standing and generates more UV radiation. This mean that all of the health risks are greater when it comes to cancer, eye effects and everything else that goes along with UV radiation.

Tanning Amplifiers According to skincancer.org these products work with the sun and amplify the effects that is has on the skin. It is because of this it means the adverse effects will be amplified as well, thus increasing the risk for skin cancer among other things.
