You must have a good digestive system for good health. As food is the main source of nutrients only a healthy digestive system can convert the food you eat into nutrients. Just as how a vehicle requires fuel to keep going, your body also requires certain nutrients like fats, proteins, vitamins, minerals and others in specified quantities everyday to get the energy required by your body and to keep your body fit and healthy. The key to good health and to have a body which is free from aches and pains, and this possible only if you have a good digestive system. Improper or poor digestion is the cause for many health problems.
A healthy diet is very important for healthy digestion. So you must have a good diet which contains a lot of fiber like, fruits, vegetables and whole grains which improves your digestive system. And do not forget water also plays a very important role. Avoid smoking, alcohol and intake of fatty foods, as they will cause irritation in the stomach, which will result in improper digestion. It is always advised that you eat in regular intervals, rather that eating too much at once.
To have a healthy digestive system your stomach lining must secrete the right amount of acid at the right time. And this does not happen, when you are stressed out. Even having too much of coffee or alcohol on an empty stomach will cause damage to stomach lining which indirectly leads to indigestion
