Beach weddings are becoming very popular lately. More and more couples are choosing domestic and destination beach weddings over the more traditional church wedding. Although this type of wedding is becoming more popular, there is still a lot of planning involved if you want your day to turn out the way you want it to. Here are some things to consider when planning your perfect day.

Choosing a destination

Whether you plan on marrying locally or traveling to somewhere exotic, there are several things that you will need to find out before you settle on a locale. If you want to hold your ceremony at a local beach you will first need to find out if your preferred beach is willing and able to allow you to have your wedding there. Once you know you will be able to have the wedding there, you'll want to find out what accommodations are offered (are guests allowed to smoke on the beach, is there a bathroom nearby, etc). You'll also need to know if you need a permit to secure the location and what the permit process entails (how long will it take to get the permit, how much will it cost, etc). For those of you who are planning on a destination wedding there are also several things you'll need to find out before you start your planning. Depending on what location you're planning on traveling to you'll need to know what documentation you will need for the trip, such as a passport and proof of vaccinations. Also, you may want to check into what certain places offer for wedding packages. For popular destination wedding sites, such as the Bahamas or Hawaii, you can often times get a wedding package that includes such things as the ceremony and reception sites, hotel accommodations and deals for you and your guests, a complimentary honeymoon suite, etc.

I got a long ways off before I worry about this stuff, but I've always though a wedding in the Bahamas would be really nice, and really inexpensive.. lol
