The Pabst Mansion in Milwaukee Wisconsin is a unique options to have your wedding ceremony and/or your wedding reception.

We recently took a tour of the mansion to plan an wedding there this summer. What we found out is that you can have an elegant wedding in a beautiful mansion in all its splendor.

First off here's a little history on the mansion. The mansion was completed in 1892 for Captain Frederick Pabst in the Flemish Renaissance style. It is located on what used to be called Grand Avenue around the turn of the century when several mansion lined the streets close to Milwaukee's lake front. Now standing alone as a symbol of the past elegance and grandeur, the mansion is located on what now is called Wisconsin Avenue with modern day buildings surrounding what's left of the mansion's grounds.

The mansion was commissioned to be built by George Bowman Ferry a Milwaukee architect and filled with modern day privileges like indoor plumbing and electricity. You can read more about the mansions history on the Pabst Mansion web site or take one of their daily tours.

When planning your wedding ceremony there first contact the mansion to find out if they have the date you are looking for open. Then meet with the curator to take the tour and ask plenty of questions. When arriving at the mansion they show you the different options available for your service. You can choose to have the ceremony on the magnificent stair case or they will open up one of the grand rooms in the upstairs for you wedding. The staircase has a landing area with enough room where you and you wedding party will fit nicely with a spectacular stained glass window as your backdrop. The bride can choose to walk up or down the stairs to meet the groom. Guests can sit at the top or the bottom of the stairs to observe the ceremony.
