Duluth, Minnesota is a far north destination, located on Lake Superior, halfway between the Twin cites of Minneapolis/St. Paul and the Canadian border. The city has been rated by Money Magazine as one of most livable Midwestern small cities. Duluth was claimed for France in 1672 by French explorer Daniel Greysolon, Sieur du Lhut, for whom the city was named. Duluth is a popular destination, for people who enjoy the beautiful scenery of the lake and forests in the vicinity. There are many attractions in Duluth today, including:
