Louisville's Wick's Pizza and Pub

Eating a slice of Wick's Pizza is an experience in and of itself. Wick's Pizza is one of those pizzas that you have no choice but to eat it with a fork. A Louisville original, Wick's Pizza and Pub opened in 1991, and has grown to four locations throughout the city.

Wick's Pizza is a favorite of mine, and was one of the first places I had to eat at when I moved back to the Louisville area, I craved their pizza the entire time I was away. I am not alone in my love for Wick's, and it has won numerous awards over the years for it's outstanding pizza. LEO Magazine named Wick's Best Pizza in 1998 and 1999, while Pizza Today named Wick's Independent Operator of the Year, and the Midwest Foodservice News named Wick's Best of the Midwest, but perhaps the greatest achievement is that Wick's has won Louisville Magazines Reader's Choice Award Best Pizza in Louisville four years in a row.

My favorite pizza at Wick's is The Big Wick, this amazing pizza comes with real tomatoes, onions, Italian sausage, beef, green and black olives, and green peppers. My husband is more of a meat eater, and prefers The Mighty Meatwick, so we usually order our pizza half The Big Wick, and half The Mighty Meatwick. The Mighty Meatwick is topped with Italian sausage, beef, ham, bacon, and pepperoni.

The Stuffed Breadwick is a favorite among my children. The Stuffed Breadwick is a large breadstick stuffed with pepperoni, and mozzerella cheese, it is served with marinara sauce for dipping.

Wick is also well known for their delicious hot sandwiches. The Hot Sicilian is unbelievable! It is a great sandwich that is piled high with ham, pepperoni, bacon, provolone cheese, lettuce, tomatoes, and topped with zesty Italian dressing.

Wick's also has an assortment of desserts, with my favorite being the Tye-Dye Cheesecake, a mouth-watering cheesecake topped with a mixture of raspberry, kiwi, and mango toppings.

Wick's has four locations throughout Louisville, one on Baxter Avenue, another on Dixie Highway, a third off of Shelbyville Road in Middletown, and the last being off Westport Road in Goosecreek.
