Fourth of July in Chi-Town: Fireworks, Taste of Chicago and Navy Pier

Chicago has special events during the entire week surrounding the Fourth of July. The Taste of Chicago festival takes place from June 29 to July 8. Navy Pier feature free entertainment every day. There are Fourth of July fireworks shows on July 3 and July 4. Navy Pier puts on a fireworks show every Wednesday and Saturday night.

On Tuesday, July 3, 2007 The City of Chicago presents the Grant Park Orchestra at Taste of Chicago and the Macy's Independence Eve Fireworks. The show starts at 8:00 pm.

The events that are going on during the Fourth of July, including Taste of Chicago, Nave Pier and the Fireworks displays, draw huge crowds. Public transportation is highly recommended. It's a good idea and to arrive early enough to enjoy the food and entertainment at Taste of Chicago or Navy Pier before the spectacular fireworks show.
