Chicago has special events during the entire week surrounding the Fourth of July. The Taste of Chicago festival takes place from June 29 to July 8. Navy Pier feature free entertainment every day. There are Fourth of July fireworks shows on July 3 and July 4. Navy Pier puts on a fireworks show every Wednesday and Saturday night.On Tuesday, July 3, 2007 The City of Chicago presents the Grant Park Orchestra at Taste of Chicago and the Macy's Independence Eve Fireworks. The show starts at 8:00 pm.
The events that are going on during the Fourth of July, including Taste of Chicago, Nave Pier and the Fireworks displays, draw huge crowds. Public transportation is highly recommended. It's a good idea and to arrive early enough to enjoy the food and entertainment at Taste of Chicago or Navy Pier before the spectacular fireworks show.

This year there will be food from over 70 restaurants, with cuisines of all kinds from Chicago area restaurants.
One of the best fireworks displays in the country takes place in Chicago, Illinois on July 3. The City of Chicago presents the Grant Park Orchestra at Taste of Chicago and the Macy's Independence Eve Fireworks Display. The fireworks and entertainment presented on July 3 is part of the annual Taste of Chicago festival. This event may attract up to a million people, to view the display in Grant Park. It's a good idea to arrive early to enjoy the food and music at The Taste of Chicago.
The event attracts crowds during it's entire run. The day of the fireworks draws even bigger crowds. . Public transportation is highly recommended. Commuter trains from around the city and the suburbs can also be crowded, so it's a good idea to get an early start. The free shuttle is a great way to get around in the City of Chicago.
