When people visit the information packed American Heart Association's website it's easy to overlook one of the best online stroke support resources you'll find anywhere on the web---their online Stroke Survivors and Family Caregivers Discussion Community. Unlike some of the older online stroke support message boards, the AHA stroke message board is very basic, straight forward and extremely easy to use.

They provide seven quality forums for sharing feelings, resources, and ideas with others who have been touched by a stroke. If you or someone in your family had a stroke this free online message board can be a life-line.

The AHA Stroke Support Online Forums Include:

1) Read it in the Stroke Connection--- This is where members of this online message board community discuss things they've read in the Stroke Connection Magazine, a free bi-monthly publication put out by the American Stroke Association which is a division of the AHA.

2) Stroke Survivors Sharing--- This discussion forum for stroke survivors is for posting about any stroke related topic that comes to mind.

3) Caregivers Sharing Stroke--- Family caregivers need a place to share and bond with each other and this is a good message board forum for that purpose.

4)) Communication Changes After Stroke--- Anyone who has dealt with post-stroke language disorders knows how isolated and lonely that can make a person feel. Reading and posting in this message board forum can help with that.

5) Physical Changes After Stroke--- Balance, mobility, paralysis and other physical post-stroke changes are all topics of discussion in this forum of the AHA message board.

6) Behavior Changes After Stroke--- Stroke related emotional ups and downs, depression, memory challenges and one-side neglect are all topics you'll find posted here.

7) Parents of Young Children with Stroke--- Parents of children who've had strokes can find peer support in this forum of the AHA message board.
