Travel Guide to the Trees of Mystery, Located in the Beautiful Redwood Forest

The Trees of Mystery is easy to find in Klamath California. Marked by a giant 49 foot 2 inch tall Paul Bunyan and his companion a 35 foot Babe the Blue Ox on highway 101 in the beautiful Redwood forest. The Trees of Mystery is 8/10 of a mile of finely groomed trail weaving through the Redwood Forest. There are enough accommodations for nice relaxing weekend and enough activities to keep you busy the entire time.

The End of the Trail Museum is one of the largest privately owned world class museums and is located at The Trees of Mystery. Divided into six rooms of interest each exhibit is labeled in detail and informative placards guide you through the rooms.

The Sky Trail by far my favorite activity is about a 10 minute ride both ways through the tree tops. Rising 571 feet in the air you get a great view of Hidden beach and the Red Mountain old Growth Stands. The trail of Tall Tales is a favorite among children. A part of the 8/10 of a mile trail the trail of tall tales explores the mythology of Paul Bunyan and his faithful blue ox Babe. Admission for the Trees of Mystery is $13.50 for adults $10.00 for seniors $6.50 fir children 4-10 and kids 3 and under free. Summer hours are June -August the gift shop opens at 8:00 a.m. and closes at 7:00 p.m. The Museum is open 8:30 a.m. and closes at 6:30 p.m. Winter hours are September through May the gift shop is open 9:00 a.m. and closes at 5:00 p.m. the gift shop opens at 9:30 a.m. and closes at 4:30 p.m. The trail opens the same time as the gift shop.

For a fantastic dinning experience visit the Forest Café located directly across the street from the Trees of Mystery. The Forest café is a unique dinning experience that explores the natural beauty and wonders of the Redwood Forest and local river life. The dinning area is divided into two areas. One half represents the "Monarchs of the Mist" and is covered by foliage to give you the feeling of dinning in the forest. The second half of the dinning area is called the "Under River Area" and rightly so dinning in this area gives you a special perspective on Salmon and Steel Head and even has ducks floating on the surface of the river.
