Society's Obsession with the Male Member

In this first installment I want to take the time to explore societies obsession with the size of the male penis. We've all heard the theories on different ethnic groups, how to tell how endowed a man is, how to tell when a man is just full of it when it comes to the size of his member, and other theories. In this piece we will explore each of these theories and try to uncover some of the true facts about this obsession.

Different Ethnic Groups and the theories surrounding them

According to sex expert Alfred C. Kinsey and his research, there really is not much difference between an non-erect penis when it comes to a black man or a white man. On the flip side of his study the erect size of black and white penises was not much different. In his studies that he documented in his book "The Kinsey Data" he documented that a white male on average had a non-erect penis length of 4 inches and a black male had an average non-erect penis size of about 4 ½ inches. When erect the average white male in the study had an erect penis size of 6.2 inches and the average black males in the study had an average size when erect of 6.3 inches. Not much of a difference in that particular study, however with Kinsey's numbers and data you have to take into consideration that he had only 59 black males participate in the study and over 2,500 white males participated. Kinsey's study that was published in his book "The Kinsey Data" in 1979 did not have any other ethnic groups covered in the study.
