Simple Pleasures in a Simple Life

Why do people always have to rush or be in a hurry? Why can't they just slow down & enjoy the simple pleasures of a simple life. I am trying to slow down these days. I want to smell the flowers, walk slowly in the evening air, play with my pets, read a good book, write a good story, spend quality time with my husband, ride off into the sunset with Archie on his harley, and enjoy just being still. These are the simple pleasures in a simple life that I call my own. There were so many years wasted on always trying to get that next drink or drug, and wasted spending time in jail for crimes done in a haste. I am so done with all of that drama from my past life. I am so blessed, thankful, and grateful that I have been given another chance to enjoy all of the simple pleasures in a simple life.
