Website Review: Blogexplosion.com

I recently joined the website Blogexplosion.com and my blog exploded, trafficwise. I received well over twenty additional page impressions. Not much, but I appreciate the exposure.

For the uninitiated, blogging is one of the hottest trends on the internet. With a blog, one person becomes an entire media company - news, opinion, technology and advice can all be generated on a blog.

Some people choose to use blogs as personal diaries, or political soapboxes. It is possible to earn a relatively small amount of income by blogging, also. The top bloggers enjoy thousands of dollars in advertising revenue from companies like Adsense, Oxado, Adbrite and others.

Most blogs are free or cheap to create; blogger.com, livejournal.com, and wordpress all provide blogs for the majority of users.

One of the trickiest issues about blogs is how to increase traffic. No one wants to have a blog that no one reads!

Blogexplosion.com solves the problem of zero exposure. Blogexplosion acts as a directory of blogs, a blog chat, an advertising source, and a community chest for bloggers. Blogexplosion is fairly selective about what they offer - porn blogs, commercial generating blogs, or "search engine optimization" blogs are not welcome.

One of the downsides of Blogexplosion is its slowness in loading. Several hundred people use the site each minute. This causes a noticeable lag effect that they have recently somewhat improved.
