65 - Jews revolt against Rome

452 - Attila the Hun invades Italy

570 - Founded in Mecca is the Nation of Islam (submission)

979 - Louis V de Luie is crowned King of France

1783 - The Laki Volcano begins eruption, and lasts for eight months

1786 - New York City's Mr. Hall advertises the first commercially made ice cream

1815 - The Act of Confederation unites all of Germany's 39 states

1824 - Washing machine is patented by Quebec's Noah Cushing

1829 - In Liverpool, the first municipal swimming pool opens outside of London

1861 - The people of Tennessee vote to succeed from the Union

1869 - First vacuum cleaner is patented by Chicago's Ives W. McGaffey

1872 - The Penny post card endorsed by Congress

1886 - The first Civil Rights Act is passed

1966 - The NFL and the AFL make the announcement that they are going to become the NFC and the AFC in 1970
