Texas Roadhouse -- Much More Than a Steakhouse!

After visiting Texas Roadhouse in Westminster, MD I must say, I am quite impressed by it.

Upon entering, I was greeted with respect by the hostess and told how long the wait was--only 15 minutes. The time passed quickly, as unlimited peanuts, in large barrels, are offered to each guest as appetizers.

After being seated in a cozy booth, I immediately started enjoying the free rolls and butter. The butter is absolutely delightful. It may seem odd to be so elated with something as simple as butter--but it was truly remarkable.

Though this restaurant is a steakhouse (and is famous for it) I felt it was important to sample other cuisine offerings.
I skimmed the menu. The new addition of a shrimp meal is a perk. Though I did not order it, a family member with me did; this person adored it! Another one of my guests ordered salmon and another ordered a BBQ Chicken Grill. My guests enjoyed their meals greatly--no complaints!

I ordered a "Chicken Critters" appetizer and a House Salad. Both of these meals were very good. Though the chicken had a few overly crunchy spots, I was quite pleased overall. The salad was simple, which made it quite delightful.

One very nice note about the food is that each entree comes with two side dishes. Side dishes include salad, rice, vegetables, steak fries and more. I am a big fan of the steak fries (my guests enjoyed the fries as well). The rice was also quite good, perfectly spiced. One of my guests ordered vegetables for a side dish, though he said these were good overall, the cauliflower was very tough.

Overall, the prices were extremely low, considering the high quality of the food. One could eat almost twice as much food at Texas Roadhouse than at another restaurant, like Ruby Tuesday or Applebee's, for half of the cost.

The service was also good. The waitress was polite and was always ready with drink refills (they are free).
