As charming as those little white bubble containers can be, the idea is a bit played out. Now it ranks right up there with giving away personalized napkins or tiny bags of rice. It's time for something newer and more fun. For information on creating easy, fun, and unique wedding favors that don't necessarily have to have your names printed on them, keep reading.

An idea that I recently saw at a wedding and thought was very charming was a candle tucked inside an individual drawstring jewelry pouch. The candles were from the Yankee Candle Company, and the scent used was "Wedding Day," which I thought was so convenient and cute. The tiny white votives had a light powdery scent, and they were placed inside organza drawstring jewelry pouches, which are thin enough to show what treasures lie within. For candles in "Wedding Day" from Yankee Candle Co., simply visit www.yankeecandle.com For the organza bags, visit http://www.fetpak.com/whstore/main.pl/slist?26 or any local craft store. Simply pop the votives in the bags, tie them, and place them in a basket. Make sure that the colors of your bags coordinate with your wedding colors!

Next, put a new twist an old idea by filling those cute favor tins with something other than Jordan almonds or mints. Select tins either in the traditional silver, or take advantage of the hot new hues that are available and pick colors that you love. Next, consider placing something with a little more meaning within each container, such as a picture of yourself and your groom/bride that has been printed to the exact specifications of the container (make the pictures slightly smaller so that they will stay in place, but will be easy to remove from the tins). Or you might even wish to fill the containers with the traditional almonds or mints, while using the picture as a decoration on the tin. For example, you could cut the picture to fit inside the top, clear cover of the tin, making it a permanent frame. To make this wedding favor even more original, fill it with personalized M&M candies, which can be ordered at www.mymms.com.

Takeaways
  • Paint sea shells an opalescent white and stamp your wedding date on them for beach weddings.
  • Feel free to use scenery and decor as wedding favors!
  • Put your hand made napkin rings in organza bags in sets of two for instant gifts after the party!
