I have tried out eight different diaper creams on my baby boy.

The Diaper Creams I Have Tried in Alphabetical Order

Aveeno Baby Diaper Rash Cream
Burt's Bees Baby Bee, Diaper Ointment with Vitamin A and Vitamin E
Common Sense Baby Cream
Desitin Zinc Oxide Diaper Rash Ointment Creamy
Earth's Best Organic Diaper Relief Ointment
Johnson's No More Diaper Rash
Safeway Brand Diaper Relief Ointment
Weleda Diaper-Care

One of the diaper creams that I used on him was the Safeway Brand Diaper Relief Ointment.

Normally I would have not chosen to purchase a store brand of diaper cream but I was out of diaper cream and asked a dear friend to pick me up some while they were at none other than Safeway. I mentioned different diaper creams that I preferred, mentioned in the other articles in this diaper cream series of articles, but told them that it was okay if they couldn't find one of those kinds. I'll admit I was surprised of their choice, but I went ahead and used it.

One thing that I look at is the warning on diaper creams which are a pretty standard warning, well Safeway Brand Diaper Relief Ointment had something added to it. Do not use over deep or puncture wounds, infections and lacerations. Wasn't sure of what to think of that, then I opened the diaper cream and there was a strong scent. I looked at the ingredients to see what it was.

Safeway Brand Diaper Relief Ointment Ingredients

Zinc oxide 40% BHA, cod liver oil (high in vitamins A & D), fragrance, lanolin, methylparaben, petrolatum, talcum and purified water

Cod liver oil, that would be the smell. Well the ingredients didn't look good. BHA and methylparaben are preservatives and fragrance is never necessary. I used Safeway Brand Diaper Relief Ointment and what a waste of time. It didn't work well and I ended up replacing it with another diaper cream, didn't even use it more than a couple days on one diaper rash.

My overall rating for Safeway Brand Diaper Relief Ointment out of 4 stars would be:
