Adolf Hitler's American Relatives - The Last Known Remnants of Hitler's Bloodline
William Patrick Hitler was born in 1911 in Liverpool, England. He was the son of German Chancellor Adolf Hitler's half-brother Alois (they shared the same father). At the turn of the century, Alois moved to Dublin, Ireland where he met William Patrick's Irish mother Bridget. After arrests
in Dublin, Alois and his wife moved to Liverpool, England where their only son William Patrick was born. In 1914, Alois left his wife and child to go back to Germany, where he stayed.
In 1939, William Patrick and his Irish-born mother Bridget moved to America, courtesy of newspaper billionaire William Randolph Hearst who was sponsoring William Patrick Hitler's anti-Nazi cross-country American lecture tour titled "My Uncle Adolf."
The Fuehrer thereafter referred to William Patrick as "my loathsome nephew."
After World War II, William Patrick Hitler changed his last name and moved to Patchogue, a middle class city in New York's Long Island, where he married and raised four sons: Alexander, Louis, Brian, and Howard, the last of Adolf Hitler's paternal bloodline and the only known living relatives.
For all his Patchogue neighbors knew, William Patrick was just a neighborhood fixture who ran a blood analysis laboratory out of his house. It was only shortly before his 1987 death that William Patrick revealed his true identity to friends and neighbors.
All of William Patrick's sons are childless. According to David Gardner's 2002 book, "The Last of the Hitlers", the brothers had taken a pact to bring their part of Adolf Hitler's bloodline to an end. In 1989, Howard had died in a car accident, leaving behind his three brothers. Alexander is a social worker. Louis and Brian are partners in a Long Island landscaping business.
According to a New York Times account, when reporters approached brothers Louis and Brian, they declined an interview, claiming that they were writing a book about their lives themselves and it would soon be published.
Brother Alexander, however, allowed himself to be interviewed for David Gardner's book. He even revealed to Gardner that he was named after his uncle. His middle name is Adolf.
