Profile of the Drever

Description:The Drever belongs to the small dog breed family. They look kind of like an oversized-thick Dachshund. It has a long-thick torso that is accompanied by four short-sausage-like legs. It face, unlike the Dachshund, is more square shaped rather than circular. This breed of dog has a long-thick tail and a long-thick muzzle. The ears on this breed are long and droopy.
Fur on this breed of dog is short and rough to the touch. Most of the dog's body is covered with a light brown fur, some of this species has dark brown fur, which is accompanied by small patches of white fur. The white fur can be found on the dog's chest and down the very center of this breeds face.
Height:
Height between the two genders will NOT vary in this breed of dog. Both the male and female will normally stand to be 11-16 inches (28-40 cm) tall. They generally don't grow to be more or less than this height.
Weight:
Weight between the two genders will NOT vary in this breed of dog. Both the male and female will usually weigh to be 32-34 pounds (14-16 kg.) Do not allow you Drever to weigh 5 pounds less than its given weight, or weigh 7 pounds more than its given weight.
Temperament:
The Drever is a laid back easy going breed of dog. They don't seem to be skittish or aggressive when scared. This breed of dog is very independent and headstrong, and has no problem going face-to-face with their owners (they're a lot like cats time to time.) This breed of dog is also gentle, friendly, playful, active, and caring. There is also a constant wag of the tail going that shows his/her friendliness. Drevers do fine with children and don't seem to be annoyed by their presence.
Life span:
This breed of dog lives an average life span of 11 to 14 years of age. Sometimes this breed lives to be about 16 or 17, though. This is on rare occasions, which means it doesn't happen often.
Living conditions:
This dog does fine living the apartment life. They aren't usually active indoors or outdoors. This breed will do okay without a yard since they aren't very active outdoors. Just give them a place to use as the bathroom and they'll be happy.
