Harry and the Potters Concert in Louisiana is Pure Magic

Concert Review of First Louisiana Concert

Harry and the Potters, some may have heard of them, while others have not, is a band that is based off of Harry Potter's extraordinary adventures in and out of Hogwarts School of Witchcraft and Wizardry.

Five years ago brothers Paul and Joe DeGeorge started this band in a semi-joke because they needed an act for their punk rock concert. But now, Harry and the Potters has a giant-sized fan base among avid readers of the series, and frequenters on MySpace. The band brings the joy of music
and reading together, while also getting kids and their parents to attend the library concerts.

Harry and the Potters had its first ever concert in Louisiana at St. Tammany's Parish Library located in Covington where kids, and young adults, of all ages attended. The concert was located outside of the library with the stage was underneath a tent where fans young and old alike sat on towels or lawn chairs to watch the concert. A souvenir section, which was located conveniently next to the stage, sold an assortment of goodies for the fans ranging from T-shirts to Buttons to the band's CDs. One of the favorite souvenirs among the crowd was a $7 yellow foam finger that proudly read, Harry and the Potters Rock.

The concert opened up where Harry Potter year 4 and Harry Potter year 7 introduced each other and their drummer, a younger, hipper version of Ollivander. One of the Potters opened up with a song of "He-who-must-not-be-named" and how he decides to break in to Harry's house and destroy his life, and leave a nice lightning bolt scar on his head.

However the sunny weather soon turned bad and the band had to play under a threatening rain cloud about how "Cornlieus Fudge is a 'butt-head'" (song edited for those younger fans), Cho Chang in "The Human Hosepipe," and Professor Lupin in "My Teacher is a Werewolf."

Even though the band is for all Harry Potter fans alike, some of the jokes could only be understood if the fans have read the fifth books Harry Potter and the Order of Phoenix, which will soon be a movie next month.
