NBA Pre-Draft Workouts Update

On Thursday Spencer Hawes of Washington went head-to-head against Joakim Noah of Florida. These players had already matched up against each other in Minnesota the day before. The Bulls looked at China's 7-foot guard Yi Jianlian in California, according to the Arlington Heights Daily Herald. Chicago has the 9th pick in this year's draft.

The Phoenix Suns continued their workouts on Friday looking at a group of players led by Finnish point guard prospect Petteri Koponen and Maryland's DJ Strawberry (son of former Major Leaguer Darryl Strawberry), according to the East Valley Tribune. Phoenix has the 24th and 29th picks in this year's draft.

On Friday the Washington Wizards worked out a group of 8 players. The players will be broken-up into two sessions with Derrick Byars of Vanderbilt, Javaris Crittendon of Georgia Tech, Nick Young of USC, Sun Yue of China making up the first session and Carl Elliot of George Washington, Jamon Gordon of Virginia Tech and Anthony Toliver of Creighton in the second session according to WashingtonWizards.com. Washington has the 16th pick in the draft.

Jeff Green of the Georgetown Hoyas has apparently not decided on his draft future yet. He worked out with Philadelphia late in the week and has more workouts scheduled. He says that he will decide on his draft future depending on "how his workouts go." He can withdraw from the draft anytime before June 18th since he has not hired an agent - Philadelphia Daily News

According to the Gaston Gazette, on Thursday the Bobcats worked out Torrell Martin of Winthrop, Derrick Byars of Vanderbilt, Justin Cage of Xavier and Cartier Martin of Kansas State. Saturday the Bobcats worked out Joakim Noah, who is expected to be picked by them with their number 8 pick. The Bobcats own the 8th and 22nd picks in the draft.
