Missing the Train

Early morning. The dinning room smelt like coffee and you could hear Greenday playing. "Wake me up... when September ends..."

She was loosing her patience. She sat down, took a cigarette and lightened it.

"Where is he?? He was supposed to be back by now! We'll miss the train!!", she thought.

After a few minutes, when she was almost out of her mind, he came in. He looked tired but had a strange smile on his face.

"Where were you??", she asked. "Did you forget we have a train to catch?"

"No, of course I didn't. Things just got ugly at work", he answered.

She felt something was not right. He was avoiding her look. He entered the bathroom and soon she could hear the shouer. After a few minutes he got out of the bathroom, lighted a cigarette and looked at her.

"What is wrong with you?", he asked.

"Nothing", she wispered. "Just... we planed this for so long, dreamt about it for so long... and today you almost make us miss the train. This is so not like you! Nothing you've been doing the last few weeks seems like you! I thought you were tired and stresed out, but I find that hard to belive for whatever reason. It feels almost like you didn't love me anymore."

"Oh, come on! Quit it! We're going on holiday! OUR holiday! It will be great, you'll see! And I do still love you, so stop this nonsense!", he said. But he was looking away. Almost as if he was thinking of something else.

"Now let's go, the train won't wait for us!", he said, taking the backpack she had prepared.
