The Alabama Coastal Birding Trail is a unique attraction in Gulf Shores, Alabama. This place is truly for the birds, and as any bird watcher will tell you, that's really not a bad thing at all. The Alabama Coastal Birding Trail provides a natural setting to view some of the most amazing sea birds and coastal birds, engaged in life in their natural surroundings.

With Pelicans, Blue Herons and other sea birds soaring through the skies, the Alabama Coastal Birding Trail is a paradise for bird watching enthusiasts. Gulf Shores, Alabama, has proved to not just be a popular resort destination for humans, but is a popular beach home for birds as well, and nowhere can these birds be seen in such abundance as on the Alabama Coastal Birding Trail.

The Alabama Coastal Birding Trail is enormous, and spans two different counties in the Alabama Gulf Coast region. A number of signs along the way provide directions along the trail, as well as interpreting the birds and their activities that are usually seen at that point in the trail. Because of the size and the informative signage, the Alabama Coastal Birding Trail provides bird enthusiasts with endless opportunities to view a wide variety of avian life.

The Alabama Coastal Birding Trail was constructed as a series of loops, which guide visitors through the bird watching areas where wildlife can be viewed most frequently. Each individual loop is significant in size, and can take more than half a day to walk completely from start to finish, depending on the amount of time spent watch birds at the many available locations.

The path of the Alabama Coastal Birding Trail loops through the famous Delta bottoms, around Mobile Bay and over the sandy terrain that shapes the Gulf of Mexico. This route includes a number of major points of interest that are highlighted by signs along the trail. Although an abundance of avian wildlife can be seen from almost anywhere on the trail, the Alabama Coastal Birding Trail contains more than 50 major points of interest, that have proven themselves to be prime bird watching locations.
