In my many stays in the Orlando area, I've had a chance to check out quite a few hotels. Some great, some pretty good, and then there is the Suburban Extended Stay in Orlando. Of all the hotels I've stayed at, all over the country, this has to be the worst. I chose it initially because money was a little tight for the trip and it was only $60 dollars a night. It boosted on it's website, that it had a full kitchen and a stovetop, and I thought "Well, why not? I can bring food in from a store and it will save a me a little money that way." I guess at $60 a night, you get what you paid for.

From the outside it looked pleasant enough. And the front desk seemed decent. The pictures on the website seemed to be holding up. I'll say this: The front desk was the nicest place to be in the hotel.

The room we had did come with everything advertised. It had a fridge and a stovetop and a sink to do dishes. The water did run both hot and cold and there was cabinet space for any items I would bring in. So far, so good right? Partly. The problem I had with it was that it didn't live up to the pictures. In the pictures the place looked clean. It my hotel it did not. The walls looked like they were about a year overdue for a washing. The bathroom had paint chipping and the table was wobbling.

I also must say that I never thought about the positioning of the TV in a hotel room until I stayed there. It was on top of the dresser, off to the side. If you are sharing a bed with someone, this can be a problem. No one wants to have to turn to watch the TV. Still, I'm not a complainer so I moved forward.

The bed itself was a bit uncomfortable. It was a little too firm for my taste. I don't mind a little firmness in my mattress but this made it feel as if I might suffer some sort of massive injury if I fell down on it. At least I could say that I hadn't seen a bug.

The hotel also offered a pool and what they should've done was give me a map at the front desk to find it. I'm pretty sure I would've had an easy time performing open heart surgery than finding this pool, but once I got there I was treated to an ice cold pool and a pool area with very little sunlight and a lot of debris around the side.

This is the only part of the hotel that is enticing in the least
