Most of my photos from 1989 to 1992 were shot with either a 110 camera or a low quality 35mm auto focus camera. That did not stop this once aspiring skateboard photographer from capturing some monumental images. The shots I was lucky enough to land of Matt Hensley are no exception.

I was fortunate enough to have seen many great skate demos in my day. Mike McGill, Mike V., Hensley, the early Alien Workshop, the list goes on. Matt was kind enough to autograph some of the pics I had of him. So was Sal Barbier. And Ron Allen. Totally Kind.

When Black Label sent out a call for the best Hensley themed photo I had no choice but to answer. I sent a handful of pics and thought little more of it other than the fact that I wanted to win the limited edition autographed skateboard deck that was put out there as grand prize and incentive. I didn't win the deck. I got Runner Up. I could not be happier. Seriously, I didn't get the board but Black Label Skateboards published five of my pics on their website. I am STOKED!

Black Label is home to some of skateboardings most hard core rippers. Chet Childress, Matt Mumford, Omar Hassan, Jimmy the Greek, Duane Peters, Jeff Grosso and more. To have my pics from the 1990's published by The Label is an honor to say the least. So read this no more and get on over to their site and check it out. My pics are posted under the News section of the site in the Matt Hensley Treasure Hunt story. I want to share the stoke with everyone. Check out PeepShow while you are there and watch FAT GUY ON A CURB. Lucero Rocks. Thank you Black Label and thank you Matt.
