Colin Powell Advises Barack Obama

The question on the minds of many in regard to the current presidential race is this: "Will Colin Powell back a Republican or a Democrat?" Powell has recently advised Barack Obama on foreign policy.

Powell, the publicly admired man who served in the administration of two Republican presidents, is advising Obama, one of the hottest Democrat contenders in the Presidential race, according to

the Associated Press on Fox News.

Powell was Joint Chiefs of Staff chairman for the first President Bush and secretary of state under President Bush.

Powell, however, has recently said that it is too early in the 2008 race to know whether or not he'll back the GOP nominee. He said of the race, "I'm going to support the best person that I can find who will lead this country for the eight years beginning in January of 2009."

Powell was interviewed on "Meet the Press" on NBC. He said of his two meetings with Obama, "I've been around this town a long time and I know everybody who is running for office. And I make myself available to talk about foreign policy matters and military matters with whoever wishes to chat with me," per the Associated Press.

When asked, Powell commented that he did not care to serve in elected office. He would however, not necessarily dismiss the idea of serving in some other political capacity or position. He commented, "I would not rule it out. I am not at all interested in political life if you mean elected political life. That is unchanged. But I always keep my eyes open and my ears open to requests for service," he said."

There is an online forum in which a group has begun a grassroots effort in order to pair up the two. The group is making an effort to persuade Colin Powell to join the 2008 Barack Obama Presidential campaign as both military and foreign affairs advisor. Mr. Obama is young & inexperienced. Please come back in a few years. Americans would LOVE to vote for an African-American - it would make us feel so good! Americans would LOVE to vote for a woman - it would make us feel so good! But IF we could find a LEADER who we feel can save out butts, we would actually vote for that person! After the democrates & republicans finalize their platforms, watch for Bloomberg (+ Colin Powell ?) to blow both major parties & the executive & the legislature out of the water! Americans are fed up! But 68% still do trust the military = Mr. Powell...
