With summer in full swing, and the beautiful array of sandals in which to choose, it is imperative to have toes to be worthy of showing off. I have found, after years of going to the salon and sitting through long waits and painful grindings, that acrylic tips and chances for foot fungus epidemics are not worth the hassle.
I recently discovered that anyone with $8 and one hour can have a beautiful salon perfect pedicure with french tips.

Simply go to your favorite drug store or discount store and pick up a box of Broadway Nails, Real Life Toenail Kit. Also pick up a foot file, for anyone who does not have one. For anyone who is skeptical, I have been using these applique nails since around March, and they are wonderful.

First, select the type of glue on toenails that is right for you. I have found that the Broadway brand is an excellent choice, but Kiss toenails are pretty good as well. I'm sure almost any brand will work well, but may adhere for fewer days than others. I would suggest judging the color (true pink or baby pink) according to that which most closely resembles the tone of your natural toenails.

Second, soak your feet for about ten minutes in a nice warm bath with or without foot soak, depending on which you prefer. Next, use a foot file to file down any rough skin or calluses around the heels, toes, or sides of feet. Next, dry feet and apply moisturizer. I suggest one made for feet, but any at all will do fine.

After lotion is soaked in, take the cuticle pusher from the toenail kit, and very gently push cuticles of all toenails back, in order to loosen any skin around the nail base. With a toenail trimmer, clip needed nails so that no natural nail is showing. Gently wipe toenails with wet cloth to ensure lotion is not present on nail.
If toenails are completely dry and lotion free you may begin applying nails.

Finished toenails...looking great!! It's as if I just came home from a salon, but half the price and half the hassle.
