A Man's Argument Against Abortion (That Women Should Agree With)

Abortion is wrong. That's my take on it, plain and simple. There are certain circumstances under which I understand abortion, but I never agree with abortion. One of them is rape. I understand why women have abortions after a rape; a traumatic event made worse by a living reminder can't be easy. That doesn't, however, mean it isn't doable. I had a math tutor in high school whose husband was a product of rape.
She tutored me at their house, so I saw her husband interacting with their children and let me tell you, this world would be short of one damn good family man if his mother hadn't kept him and raised him. I've heard the argument that women are also worried that since the father was a rapist, the baby (if a boy) will turn out to be one, too. Well, my story should tell you that's no absolute truth.
And in my opinion, his mother is stronger for keeping him than any women who hide behind the phrase, "it's my body." When you're pregnant, there's another body inside you that hasn't had a chance to live. If you're going to have an abortion because you disagree with something that's scientifically true, don't dare say you're stronger than a man if you decide you can't hack a pregnancy. In the case of rape, the child inside of you didn't rape you, so even though I understand why a violated woman would want to have an abortion, she shouldn't. It's selfish.
You went through hell, don't put the baby through hell by having a doctor stick a needle in it's forehead through your uterus. That's not even the most brutal method of abortion. Rape must be traumatic, but wouldn't watching a baby that's half yours being stabbed cause you even more trauma? Think about it.
