Yarrr PR in Detroit brings us some great music with the following two CDs, The Hentchmen's Hentch-Forth Five and Chris Letcher's Frieze. The Hentchmen were formed in 1992 and including a young Jack White (the White Stripes) on their roster. Chris Letcher is a singer/songwriter and film composer out of London. The Hentchmen
Hentch-Forth. Five
This CD is absolutely awesome. The Hentchmen have a 60's sound (on purpose) that is so catchy you will not want to stop listening to them even when the CD is finished. Luckily enough, Hentch-Forth Five has 14 songs on it! The perfect amount to get your fill until you can come back for more.
The Hentchmen's music is so obviously inspired by bands like Devo and the Sonics. The band formed in 1992 in Detroit, Rock City, prior to the onslaught of White Stripes. 5 Years later their first 45 would drop and only another year after that the first White Stripes album would hit the racks.
Now all of the awesomeness that was The Hentchmen is available in a re-mastered and re-issued form for your listening pleasure on this single MUST HAVE CD. And don't forget to check out what now IS The Hentchmen (only minus Jack White).

Frieze
Chris Letcher's music is reminiscent of a blend of Rush, Bowie and modern space rock all rolled into one interesting sound that is sure to please your musical pallet. Frieze is Letcher's international debut album and includes great songs such as Deep Frieze, Bad Shepherd, Sketch (which happens to be my favorite song on the 15 song CD), If Nothing Else and I Was Awake I Could Not Move My Eyes.
Though Chris Letcher's Frieze album is too mellow to listen to on a long drive (it's much too relaxing), it is a great CD to listen to while chilling out at home, or anywhere else for that matter.
Chris has recently collaborated with Dave Matthews and is studying for his Doctorate in Music Composition (all while still recording this great CD to share with all of you).
Want something with interesting sounds, spacey noises, lyrics that mesmerize and vocals that ease your mind? Pick up a copy of Chris Letcher's Frieze and you will get all of this and more!
