Step 1: Learn About Salinas Tourist Attractions
One of the first things that you may want to plan for your Salinas honeymoon are day trips to local tourist attractions. Steinbeck was a noble prize winner that came from Salinas. He is celebrated by this town with a Steinbeck Festival and the National Steinbeck Center. If you are interested in sports then you may also want to make plans to attend a sporting event at the Salinas Sports Complex.
Step 2: Learn About Your Lodging Options
If you live in or near Salinas then you don't have to pay for third party accommodations. Instead you can simply sleep at your house and then plan day trips to local attractions. However, if you live outside the area, or if you prefer to sleep away from your home then you have a lot of premium lodging options to choose from. Your first option is to stay at a local campground. Some of the closest campgrounds include: the Rattlesnake Campground, the Laguna Seca Recreation Area, Monterey County Parks, Lower Piney Creek Campground, Piney Creek Campground and Rocky Creek Campground. If you prefer indoor accommodations then you can stay at a local hotel like the Country Garden Inns, the Hofsas House Hotel, the Best Western Romona Inn or the Comfort Inn Marina.
Step 3: Plan a Hiking Trip
If you are interested in hiking then you have at least 7 trail systems located within 10 miles of Salinas to choose from. One of the closest trail systems is the Carmel River Trail. It is located about 6 miles from the Salinas Metropolitan area. It offers 29.4 miles of trails and 3,023 feet in elevation changes. Other local trail systems include: Church Creek Trail, Hennicksons Risge Trail, Miller Canyon Trail, Pine Ridge Trail, Rattlesnake Creek Trail and San Clemente Trail.
