5 of the Funniest Rules or Traditions in Sports

If you even remotely call yourself a sports fan I am sure this has happened to you. You are sitting there watching your favorite team with some friends and all of the sudden your team gets called for a foul, a penalty, or some wierd rule that makes you go, "Huh, what was that"? I know I
have and its time to share the top 5 dumbest rules in professional and collegiate sports.

#5 Soccer Actors: Now I am not a huge soccer fan, but when it comes around to the World Cup I get into it even though the U.S. disappoints all but on one occasion. The funniest and oddest rule I always see is that player dribbling the ball down the field someone pulls at his shorts and he does 3 somersaults, hands waving in the air, and a face that looks like someone just ran him over. Then as he lies there talking to the umpire or referee a stretcher is brought out to take him off the field. Now to me, if you are getting taken off the field on a stretcher your next stop is the hospital. However, 5 minutes later you see that same person return to the game like he was in gym class and simply got a bruise. What gives with this rule?

#4 NFL Overtime Rule: When oh when are they ever going to change the rule about the first team that scores wins. This has got to be one of the most boring overtimes I have ever watched in any sport. So if you don't know this rule (by chance) or never seen an NFL overtime game basically what happens is they flip a coin to see who gets the ball first (because I've only seen on two occasions where the winner has deferred) and then they drive down the field and score, game over. I believe last season they said the whoever won the coin toss since overtime was initiated into the sport 76% of the teams who had the ball first won on the opening drive of overtime. So pretty much your saying we can all watch the coin toss and go home! Thanks for that.
