Love Poems: Ideas and Examples for How to be Romantic

So, you're in love? Writting love poetry can be as vast and wonderful as love itself. Writting it for your sweetheart will bond your relationship even stronger. This short script will help you make the first steps.

You want to impress your soul mate with words that could have came from God himself. But, how to do it? Let's start with the basics.

First, before anything, the poem you write should be no bigger than one or two stanzas. The advanced poets make their poems longer, but all beginners need to start with something simple. The type of approach the beginners should make is the "short, but sweet" poem. For example,

Some say the world will end in fire, (A)
Some say the world will end in ice, (B)
But all I know of is desire, (A)
The fire burning in your eyes. (B)

This poem is the short poem, but despite its size, it can work miracles. This is the poem we need to start with.

Second, we need a rhythm pattern. Poetry is music. Poetry is the same thing as lyrics for a singer, but there are no instruments behind the poet. Nevertheless, the poet speaks with rhythm, rhyme, and emotion just as if there were musicians behind him. It is the beat that gives the poetry character, and even determines the style. Give the poetry a slow beat if what your writting is calm, or give the poetry a fast beat if your writting is "desirable" (wink).

Last and third, you need rhyme. Once you write enough poetry and evolve a little, you can start writting without rhyme while making a poem just as great with rhyme, but for beginners we should start with the simple rhyme. There are many types of rhyme, and the simplest are ABAB and AABB, with the last word for every A line rhymes with the word at the end of the other A line, and the last word for every B line rhymes with the last word of the other B line. The poem given above, for example, is ABAB.
