John and Sherrie Daly Pleasure with "The Daly Show"

Couple Star in Remake of He Said, She Said

After being only 3 strokes off the lead at the St. Jude Championship in Memphis last week following the 1st round, John Daly wound up at 18 over par, shooting a 79 Sunday to finish 79th out of 80 players. Playing on a sponsor's exemption due to finishing 193rd on the PGA's money list last
year, Daly's scores shot up like his waist size after the events of Thursday night and Friday morning.

He said: On Friday morning, John Daly filed a report with the local police saying his wife Sherrie, who also serves as his caddie, or did, attacked him in his sleep with a steak knife. By the time the police arrived, Sherrie Daly was gone, leaving John Daly's version of the events unchallenged.

Then "Long John" went out that afternoon and shot a 74, sporting conspicuous red scratch marks on both sides of his face that looked as if they could have been made by Freddy Krueger.

John Daly then went out and made his on course situation worse on Saturday and Sunday without adding much to the growing speculation. Then Monday, Sherrie Daly, who was just paroled from prison last year on a money laundering charge relating to her parents convictions for running a gambling and drug ring, added her version of the events. She said:

In a court petition filed Monday June 11, Sherrie Daly accused John of sexually assaulting her and making up the story of the steak knife and scratching his own face. Both sought protection from the other. John Daly was flanked by security officers on Saturday and Sunday. Things cooled down after a meeting with their attorneys Monday and both say they do not intend to press charges against the other.

John Daly in one breath calls his wife a "liar" and then in another says the couple is "still in love". "She beats me up when I go to sleep" Daly said among other things. "I just married the wrong woman". After four marriages, I'd say John Daly has made a habit of that and should have it down by now.
