Colorado Renaissance Festival 2007: Get Out of the House and Enjoy Some History

Need plans for the weekend? Or maybe a fun idea to take dad out for Father's day? Maybe you just want to take the kids out for some good old-fashioned fun. Well, for 30 years, the Colorado Renaissance Festival has been serving up a glimpse of fun along with a bit of history. Here is your chance to get your family wrangled up to have some fun, (whether you choose to wear the period costumes or not). Have you ever wanted to know more about medieval times? Well, here's your chance to feel like a king, knight, lord or lady. Sip on some mead from a goblet, feast on turkey legs, and see people juggle with fire and watch some vaudeville acts. There are brand new shows this year at the Festival, never before seen. These include skilled magicians, jugglers with razor-sharp swords, wild stunts, acrobats and comedy. There will never be a dull moment.

If you've been to the Renaissance Festival before and think that you've seen it all, you are wrong my friend. The festival's themed weekends are different every time you go. You'll see events that you've never seen. Here's a quick summary of just a few events you would enjoy:
jousting - watch knights in full armor battle it out on real horses, hypnotism - watch first-hand as volunteers out the audience are hypnotized right before your eyes (maybe you could even be a volunteer) , singing, dancing, comedy shows (one called puke and snot, the kids will love it). Warning: a little bit of history and merriment might just occur as well. Don't forget about all the different themed weekends: there is a children's weekend (paired with a costume contest and a petting zoo), a weekend dedicated to dad, (buy your dad a mug of ale and check out the Best Man in Tights contest), a Mardi Gras weekend, (try out the Nobility Fashion show), and much more. There is a weekend dedicated to pirates, and even a Captain Jack look-alike contest. Plus, there's free parking!
