At the age of 11, puberty hit me something fierce. For the next 4 years, I hated the double dd bust that puberty had bestowed upon me. In a world of children, I felt awkward, alone and out of place. If this sounds familiar, listen up.

Whether you are the busty and unhappy young girl or the busty and unhappy young girl's mother, read on. These suggestions could have saved me from some of my early misery, had I been informed. Unfortunately, when I was growing up, I didn't know any other busty girls. If you learn anything from this article, know that you are not alone.

Get a good bra.

Now is the time to invest in a good bra. Make it a life-long habit to splurge on a comfortable and supportive bra, at any cost. You will be glad you did. A good bra will also minimize bounce, which during early teenage years, is always a good thing.

Get a sturdy sports bra.

As you have certainly learned, not every young teen is busty. It is the same among adult women. Unfortunately, not every store caters to a bigger bust. Fortunately, the internet has helped introduce busty women to better sports bras. If you cannot find a good sports bra in your area, check online. A sports bra can be the difference between playing soccer, or not. Don't let your bust get in the way of playing sports.

Understand that you won't be picked on forever.

If you are getting heckled at school because of your bust, remember that there will come a time when many of those who made fun of you, will come to envy you and your bust. Breasts are a sign of maturity. Eventually, all women get them in some form or another. Once everyone catches up, your bust will better blend in. The grade school heckling will be a thing of the past, something even you will laugh about.

Understand that you may come to love your breasts.

Not every woman wants, nor loves, her big breasts. However, someone they know does. Jokes aside, keep in mind that women who are less-endowed aren't necessarily happier. In fact, many of them would trade your bust in a heartbeat.

Be grateful for what you have.
