Children's Party Ideas

Birthday parties are very special for both the child, the kids at the party and the parents. People like to celebrate and a birthday is a great excuse to get together and celebrate. A good birthday party can give a child memories that will last a lifetime.

When you are planning a party it is good to plan the party around something that the child is interested in.

If your child likes dinosaurs then you could plan a dinosaur party. You can get some large plastic eggs and put prizes in them like coins, plastic dinosaurs or candy. Then hide the eggs and let the kids find them. Try to make sure that all the kids get a fair share of eggs. A cake can be made to look like a dinosaur or you can special order a cake from a bakery.

My child likes fish so when his birthday rolled around I baked a cake and put a small fish in a small clear bowl on top of the cake. I made sure the bowl was sanitized and I had a larger bowl off to the side so after we presented the cake we put the fish in the larger bowl. I made a fishing game with a fishing pole made with a stick and a string for fishing line. At the end of the line I had a magnet. Then I made some paper fish and put a paper clip on each paper fish. The paper fish had words written on them of the prize the child won if the magnet on the fishing pole picked up that fish. The children took turns catching the paper fish and they all got a prize from the fish that the magnet picked up.

Space Aliens are a popular birthday theme. You can take a wok that is made of all metal and use it as a mold for a cake. When you pop the cake out of the wok it looks like a space ship. Then you can decorate it to look like a space ship. You can get some decorations for a space theme and have antennas for the kids to wear on their heads instead of a party hat. You can have "Star Wars" or some other space flick playing on the television.

Horse's are a nice party theme so if the kids are old enough why not take them to a horse back riding stable and let them ride horses for a party theme. Then you can have a cake made that looks like a horse or a saddle for a cake.
