Japan to Open First Ever Dog Nursing Home
Many people love their dogs and would do absolutely anything for them.
According to the Associated Press, in Japan, there will be the first nursing home for dogs. Included in this pooch-assisted living program includes 24/7 monitoring by trained doctors and much more. After all, man's best friend deserves the best treatment, even in his later years, right?
The dog nursing home is called Soladi Care Home for Pets and is located in the eastern Japanese city of Tochigi. The idea and concept of the dog nursing home was put together by Soladi Co. and the Endo Veterinary Clinic in Tochigi, reported the Associated Press.
Soladi charges owners about $800 a month to keep their pooches in the home, a rather steep price.
However, with the $800 a month comes absolute care and service. Dogs will have round-the-clock doctor visits and check-ups. Dogs with medical conditions, including diabetes or incontinence, will have vets at their side whenever they need it. There is also a specially balanced diet developed by Endo vets just for the dogs at the home. They assure this diet will be perfect for the dogs and help them live longer and healthier while in their care.
The home also came up with another clever way to make elderly pooches feel better. Soladi Care Home for Pets plans on bringing in a group of rescued and young puppies to play with the older dogs to help them feel better, younger, and more fit, said the Associated Press.
In addition, the dog nursing home houses up to 20 dogs at one time, and they expect to be full as soon at the home opens.
And of course, there are no worries for pet owners about never seeing their dogs again. Families are allowed to visit their beloved friends whenever they like.
Soladi Care Home for Pets opens on Friday June 15th, 2007 in Tochigi, Japan.
