Wrote a Book? Design Your Own Book Cover with Book Cover Pro Software

It's Easy!

Book Cover Pro is software that can easily make any book cover from the comfort of your home. Are you an author wanting to have a graphic designer work on your book cover, but you can't pay the $500-1200 for the cover? Well, Book Cover Pro's easy technology may be
one for you. For a nominal fee, you can use the software to create your own book cover and be able to send to any printer the finished file (a pdf file) to printers like Lighting Source, Inc, Lulu Press, or any other printer. If you are an do-it-yourself type of person, and don't mind tinkering with this new technology, then here's the skinny on the product I bought a few months ago.

For $200.00 you can purchase the software, download it from the site, or have the company send you the CD and complete the graphic design production for yourself using the software on your home computer.

I highly rate the product because after a quick set up, it's very easy to work on the book cover. Within five to ten minutes you can easily begin designing your own book cover.

What's the skinny?
It's easy to use. Easy to set up. You can use the background templates they provide on the site at www.bookcoverpro.com or you can drag and drop jpeg or tiff files into your book cover pro template so you can begin designing the book cover. Within the template, you can enter text and customize the size of the book, by placing the dimensions on the appropriate section. Make sure you get the size dimensions from your printer on the spine size and enter that as well as the ISBN number on the template so that will be generated within the book cover.

Play around with the text on the front cover, back cover, and spine to your liking. Once that is done, save as a "pdf' file and let others look at your work.

If you are not sure of what will work on the front cover or the back, look at other books you may have bought before and look at the layout on the covers. Find what you'd like to replicate.

I had problems with this program too. I followed the directions but some aspects of the software is simply flawed. I didn't ask for a refund, but I did go with another company that charged considerably less for a product that worked much better for me.

When i first got the software by Book Cover Pro I read it thoroughly. I never had to contact Customer service because I am tech saavy and I used to work with a graphic designer so I knew some tricks. Using the software, not only have I saved money but I was able to help other authors print their books at a cost savings to them. How? I make sure I match up the specific formatting requirement from Lightning Source and other printers. I tweek it until the book cover is perfect, then I submit for the book cover process. I am sorry you had that much problem with them, however I've never had the same experiences. Like any software you buy you need to take time to read instructions from the site, and make sure you take your time to format the book cover. It has never taken me more than 1-2 days to perfect a cover before submitting for a book to be published. I've never had to contact Angie at all for any circumstances and no, I do not work for them. I simply feel it is a good product. But if

I have done several covers with Book Cover Pro and it is not meant to replace photoshop or any other software. You have to read the instructions. As far as lulu, I know several authors who have matched up the specs with lulu and other printers to get their traditional books printed. please before you put someone on blast do your research first.

BCP does NOT work with Lulu. Whoever wrote that is freaking lying. I used to use lulu also and tried using BCP for my covers with them and BCP does NOT interface with lulu at all. Angie told me that I needed to email my cover to her and she would redo the cover so it could be submitted to Lulu and meet their specifications. Unless you email EVERY SINGLE COVER to Angie for her to redo, you cannot use the program with LULU! Don't buy it!

To the person who posted that they use lulu and design their bookcovers with BookCoverPro.. you are full of it! I use Lulu also, and BookCoverPro does NOT interface with Lulu! When I contacted BCP's customerservice (there's a joke right there) they said that the software doesn't work with lulu and that I would have to email them my cover that I created and they would correct it to work with lulu's specifications. What a ring of lies! Don't buy it!

I'm sorry, but I cannot agree with what you have written here. BookCoverPro is a complete SCAM. The software doesn't work, the 'company' boasts they have a 'team' but it is obvious that the owner, Angie, is the only one running anything. She does not respond to emails or phone calls. They took my money and ran with it. I requested a full refund but they are politely ignoring me and several other writers who have requested refunds. The software is pure junk, so many gliches you can't do anything with it. Check out their 'contact us' page. They have a 'voicemail' number for you to call if you need anything, and plainly state on the page that they cannot guarantee that your phone call will be returned. This company is a joke. I just lost $200, hope no one else does.

This is right on target in the past I have used www.lulu.com inventory of book covers , but now I can have a expanded variety of options created by me thrown in for good measure.

I have done some of my own small booklets and I use colored card stock and usually design my own. Thanks, Cyn
