I spent a little over three years in the automotive industry as a salesperson. In that time I learned everything about the business both the good and the bad. I understand that quite a few people have a negative viewpoint about salespeople, and some of it is well deserved. But don't think that all salespeople are dishonest, in fact the majority of them are decent people. In the car business the turnover rate for salespeople is quite high for the average dealership, in most cases you will have someone who is brand new to the business. I have had the pleasure of working with a very diverse group of people over the years ranging from accountants, computer programmers, construction workers, truck drivers,ex-military, and even former police officers. Most of the people I worked with found their way into the business because they were downsized, felt they were underpaid, or suffered from a medical condition and could no longer perform their previous duties. The car sales profession is one of the highest paying jobs you can have with little to no experience.
