Ever since I first heard the word astrology I have been curious about what it's all about. Terms like sun signs, bio rhythms, and zodiac all made me wonder what kind of drugs were being consumed by the people who were practicing this stuff. I think what got me started on my research of everything celestial was the psychic Ms. Cleo. If you don't remember Ms. Cleo from the late night infomercial's then you either don't own a television or are under the age of ten.

But this article isn't about Ms. Cleo. It's a look at the life of a Taurus. After reading about typical characteristics and behaviors of my zodiac sign, I got kind of creeped out because it was all true. I know that a lot of skeptics think that the zodiac information is vague and could describe anyone, but everything was right on the money. I even read different sign's profiles to see if their characteristics were anything like mine and they weren't.

There are twelve signs in the zodiac: Aries, Taurus, Gemini, Cancer, Leo, Virgo, Libra, Scorpio, Sagittarius, Capricorn, Aquarius, and Pisces. Your sign is based on your birthday and each sign has either an animal or some other symbol that corresponds with that sign's personality. All signs also are governed by one of the these four elements: earth, fire, air, or water. These represent your emotions. There are also planets assigned to each sign, but I still don't know what the significance of this is.

As a Taurus, I am represented by the bull and governed by the element earth. My planet is Venus for whatever reason. All I know is that the goddess Venus was the goddess of love in mythology, so Taurus is the most sensual of all the signs.

A Taurus is infamous for being very stubborn or "bull" headed. We love material goodies and the finer things in life, like good food, silk sheets, and long bubble baths in Chanel No. 5. We also love money, but not the money itself. We love the financial stability we get from it. Taurus's basic need is stability. This means in the home, in their relationships, and in their bank accounts.
