My family and I decided that it was time to venture out and head to another zoo. We piled in two cars and headed for our three hour drive to a different zoo. See most of you know already that I am obsessed with animals and I like heading to the zoo just as much as my children do if not more. So I was just as happy as my children where that we were going to a different zoo this year.

Finally we reach our exit on the freeway, excitement fills my heart. I cant wait to see the gorillas and chimps. They are by far my favorite animals. Heading down the street we were told that the zoo is on, I began to feel a little worried. We were heading right for the ghetto. This neighbor hood was pretty bad and in my opinion it was worse then Detroit. My husband looks at me and says, I thought you researched this place. I did, and seen nothing about the neighbor hood that it was in. I never had a clue it was so nasty. So we drive up this hill and things start looking a tad bit better. The zoo was not clearly marked so of course we missed the zoo parking which was on opposite side of the zoo itself. We turn around, pay for parking and meet the rest of our family. My husband, myself, our 3 children, my mother in law and my step father in law.

We head up a large hill to the zoo and stand in line to pay our money so we can get in. My part of the family gets in and then we wait on my mother in law. Her husband has a harder time walking so we were waiting on them to get a scooter for him. 20 minutes goes by, the kids growing restless as myself. We came to see the animals, not stand at the gates in direct sun and wait. My mother in law goes back up to the booth and they tell us they are checking on it. Finally about 35 minutes later we get all settled and start heading into the zoo.

Thanks, Brandi - we really need to know which zoos are good and which are a waste of time and aren't set up properly.
