Black Angus Restaurant Review

I went to Black Angus last night with my son and some friends. I am always very impressed every time I go there. We arrived about 5:30 pm. There was only about a 5 minute wait. That wasn't bad. I have waited much longer for a table there.We were seated and started looking at the menu. We all decided what we wanted. We wanted the Dinner for two. We would get 2 orders and I would make my prime rib 16 oz. and share with my son. I would also order a side of garlic mashed potatoes so he would have his own.
The dinner for two is by far the best value on the menu. First off you get a choice of appetizer. We chose the sampler platter which had huge potato skins, shrimp cocktail and spicy chicken strips. We had them omit the fried zucchini, and had them give us more potato skins and chicken strips.
Then you get sweet molasses bread and real whipped butter. It is the best bread I have ever eaten. It's hot, fresh and delicious. I think we went through six loaves during dinner.
Then you get to choose from a garden salad, baked potato soup, or steak soup. We all chose our side. I picked the steak soup. It is very good. I only had one problem with it. It had no steak in it. Normally when I have it there are quite a few pieces of steak in it. Tonight there is none. I am disappointed about that.
Then you get to choose from baked potato, rice pilaf, garlic mashed potatoes, or steakhouse fries. We all chose the garlic mashed potatoes.
Our steak and garlic mashed potatoes arrive. I don't like pink in my steak at all, and neither does my son. I quickly cut them open and they are perfect. That makes me very happy. I have had to send my steak back many times at many places to get it just the way I want it. Unfortunately my best friend's steak wasn't prepared the way she wanted it. We had to send it back. They brought it out again and it was perfect.
