Marigolds are usually bought in little cups which they sell at any large store such as target, kmart, walmart, etc. They will cost around $3.00 for 8 or so plants.
Marigolds are very inexpensive and they add a lot of beauty to your yard. They have a perfect ball like appearance. Before planting any marigolds you should mix up the dirt well and make sure that it is moist. I would suggest tilling your yard and making the soil rich again. If you allow the plant to seed itself it will come back the following year and it will spread and become larger. This usually means that you have to till the flowers back into the dirt to get them to seed.
Marigolds are beautiful and they make a great addition to any pot in your yard or any part in your landscaping. They are also known to be a remedy for a lot of different illnesses. If you have some type of sting such as a bee sting you can actually rub the marigold on your wound and it will releave the pain and the itchy feeling. You can actually eat the leaves of the marigolds. If you boil the marigolds there is a yellow dye that is emitted from boiling them. They are definately a multi use plant. I would suggest planting them around your trees or mailboxes. They are very easy to care for and plant. They have very shallow roots which means you can come them if you would like to. Make sure to give them a good root watering after you transplant them.
Marigolds are truly amazing flowers. They make wonderful additions to your yard. If you plant them correctly and water them daily they will do great all summer long. Enjoy your marigolds!
